Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my new 2012 JustGiving page.

As many of you know, I took part in this event a few years back to raise money for Aspire as well as Giving me incentive to lose 4 stone!

I haven’t stopped swimming since and I am confident that I could complete the Aspire channel swim challenge again.

Therefore, instead of swimming the lengths of the channel (22 miles) during the 12 week period, my new challenge is to swim there and back in the same time!

This is a real challenge for me; I will need to swim more lengths each week than I have ever done in one week even!

It breaks up like so:

My pool (Strode Pool in Street Somerset) is 33.3 metres in length and last time around that meant I needed to swim 1064 lengths to complete the 22 mile challenge.

This time I will need to swim 44 miles, that’s 2128 lengths! OMG, that is pretty scary looking at it like that (especially as I’m not exactly athletic by any stretch of the imagination!

I will need to average roughly 178 lengths per week.

The challenge runs from September 10 to December 3 and donations can be made here online, or to me in person at home or work (only at work if you work in Clarks please!)

If you wish to donate in cash please email me: Adrian@parachutegame.co.uk or call me 07777 660 805 so I can make sure I am there when you visit.

My progress chart will be updated after each swim here:
