I have taken on a challenge which is big for me - I'm a carthorse and I've never run more than 3 miles in my life. But I'm determined to get fitter and thought I'd use this opportunity to raise some money for a couple of causes which I believe are important.

This page gives you the opportunity to sponsor me with the proceeds going to Cancer Research UK. We all know friends and relatives who have died from cancer, and there's also good news - for eg. a good friend of mine, Freya, has just benefited from the huge progress made in treating cancer over past years. Science can be amazing - there's going to be much more progress, and we need that to happen - as I age over the coming years, I know that I (and you) will be more and more affected either directly or indirectly by cancer. Please do make a donation, however small (I know you receive many requests!), on this page, or my other page which is set up for Mind, the mental health charity, if you are more drawn to that.
