Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie are calling on the nation to get down to the pool for Swimathon 2022 - thousands of swimmers, two great causes, one big charity challenge.

Story

This is my  6th year of entering Swimathon and also coincides with my 60th birthday so have set myself my biggest distance of 20k ( 800 lengths ) to swim between 29th and May 15th ( but hoping to do it in 10 sessions ) in my local pool at The Malden Centre in New Malden  . In so doing how to raise some money for these terrific charities  . I realise of course how tough it is with cost of living and all challenges people have to ask for them to donate Hard earned  money . But as someone who has witnessed  very  close family and friends suffer from Cancer, and see them lose loved ones to it I believe passionately that  these charities are doing a vital job to help people.  So I hope that my modest efforts might just raise a bit more money to help them continue their fantastic work . Last year people were incredibly generous and I have set my fundraising target at the same level I reached then . This in the current climate might be ambitious but I thought it was worth a go ! So if you read this  and can help , please follow my progress on here from 29th and donate ! Further information on the charities and Swimathon is below Thanks Very Much
