Story

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. Our very own Adult Friendship Scheme has not been able to run in it's usual form for over a year now. The schemes objective is to support vulnerable people to make friends, socialise and find a sense of belonging. In a time when people have found themselves isolated and lonely we have luckily managed to continue to support our members through online zoom sessions and we have had so much fun! During the height of the pandemic, Captain Tom stepped up to help, taking on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspiring millions to donate to the cause. To celebrate the extraordinary spirit of Captain Tom, some of our members are taking part in a 100 step challenge during our zoom session on the 27th April to raise money for our wonderful charity and enable us to continue to provide a much needed service to our members.
