NB This challenge has had to be brought forward to the 29/08/2009-30/08/2009

 

This challenge started out like any truly great idea....in the pub.

After several cool beers outside our local tavern, a colleague mentioned that he knew of someone that had completed the 3 Peak Challenge, and said that he would like to give it a go.

Mainly due to the beer and huge amounts of ego, we came to the conclusion that it was a very easy task, and really would not be that hard to achieve.

For those of you that don’t know, the challenge consists of the following.

You start the challenge at 5.00 pm at the base of Ben Nevis (Scotland-Fort William) climbing to the summit and then back down as quickly as possible, then jumping into a minibus driving several hours (depending on traffic) to Scafell Pike (England – Wasdale). Then hop out of the Mini Bus and climb to the summit and back down, crawl back into the minibus and drive for several more hours.

Then finally arrive at Snowdon (Caernarfon), where we you’ve guessed it struggle to the summit and fall back down to finally complete the challenge ….

 

The challenge will only be successful if we have completed the task within 24 hours.

 

After sitting down and writing this, it has now occurred to me that this may not be as easy as we once thought.

However since we are going to attempt this, we thought it would be a great opportunity to raise some money for a local charity Little Havens.
