Over the last few years I've taken part in a few running events to raise money for Macmillan. They're an amazing charity and they need help to continue to do what they do best - bringing light and smile to the patients with cancer and their families.

In May I will be running in the memory of my dear friend Fi who we lost in January 2023, just 3 months after the cancer diagnosis. Fi dedicated her life to helping others, in her professional life as a NHS nurse and in her private life, always putting her family and friends first. 

Macmillan team has been there to support Fi even if for a very short time. They were caring, considerate and professional. 

I ran my first half marathon in 2021. Doing it again will be a huge challenge for me, perhaps bigger than last time. Due to my own autoimmune disease I've not been strong enough to train for more than 18 months. Fortunately, I've been feeling much better recently and I'm determined to give it a go!
