A challenge like no other! Take on the vast lava fields, marvel at one of Europe's most breathtaking backdrops and trek to end homelessness.

Story

Lloyds Banking Group are joining forces with Crisis and the Simon Community to end homelessness for good. Every penny raised will help more secure the support they need to find a safe and secure place to call home.

I am incredibly happy to share with you my journey as I take on this amazing challenge to raise money for Crisis, a charity that aims to end homelessness in Britain.

In September 2023 I will be trekking 58km (in 3 days!) through one of the planet’s most volcanic regions - the Lava Fields in Iceland. The Iceland Lava Trek takes in thundering waterfalls, steaming lava fields, plunging fjords and spouting geysers. Crossing the phenomenal Landmannalaugar, the route is through one of the most actively volcanic and alien landscapes in Iceland.

The duration may be short, but the days are long and the terrain is very challenging, with steep climbs and rough descents. In addition, I will also be in charge of setting up and breaking down camp, making this a truly tough challenge.

This is in aid of a fantastic cause to support those in need of rebuilding their lives and to help them find a safe and stable place to stay. A home is a fundamental human need. It’s about more than just a roof over your head: having a home allows us to put down roots in a community. It’s the stable foundation we all need to build our lives.

Homelessness in the UK is an increasing issue. With the current economic climate, the number of individuals that find themselves without a safe place to stay has significantly increased. I felt compelled to step up and take on this challenge. With your help I aim to raise £4,000 for Crisis.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page, and I hope you will enjoy following me on my journey!
