2010 British 10K London run · 11 July 2010 ·

The Lullaby Trust exists to keep babies safe and to keep grieving families supported. We fund life-saving research, empower families with expert baby safety advice and support grieving families through their darkest days. We won’t give up until no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am updating this site on 12th July.  Yesterday I took part in the British 10k through London.  I am not a runner but I got round in a time of 1 hour, 19 minutes and 20 seconds.  I don't think the British Olympic Team are knocking on my door but I am pretty happy with the result.

Why did I do it?  Here's the story.  Just  before Christmas my much loved nephew died - he was 13 months old.  We didn't expect it as he was really a fit and healthy little chap.  It turns out he had a couple of very simple infections (cough and cold) but together they were too much for his little body to cope with and so he is no longer with us.

A bunch of us decided to do the run for FSID - the foundation for the study of infant deaths.  They have been a great help to my family through this difficult time and do amazing work for people who are struck by this tragedy.  10 babies die suddenly and unexpectedly every week in the UK and so this is something that can happen to anyone - I never thought this would happen to my family but it most definitely has!
