People who are facing or are living with dementia will know it is a very hard and long battle.
Carers and families need as much support, advice and knowledge of the illness as possible during very difficult times.
Any money raised or donated to ageuk, big or small, is extremely valuable to us. Here is how you could make a difference:
£1.50 will pay for us to send a handwritten birthday card with a personal message to someone who lives alone and dosen't have any close family or friends.
£30 could provide a winter warmth parcel to an older person who is struggling to keep warm. A flask, fleecy blanket, socks and a wind up torch can make a big difference.
£100 buys a set of board games for one of our Day Clubs.
£250 covers the cost of a friendly telephone call each week to a housebound older person.
£1,000 covers our costs to take 40 people on a day trip to the coast.
£5,000 provides a 12 month programme of entertainment and trips for 140 people at our Day Clubs.
£15,000 will run a specialist club for one year for people with dementia.
