The Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon · 14 July 2012

The Artemis Charitable Foundation supports charities in the UK and internationally in the areas of health, poverty, education and the environment. The foundation sponsors the Artemis Pentland Peaks Challenge so that all the funds raised can go to the event charities Mary's Meals and John Muir Trust.

Story

On Saturday 14th July, we will be taking part in a gruelling challenge; swimming, climbing, kayaking and cycling around the Scottish Highlands as part of the Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon, in aid of the Artemis Charitable Foundation.

The Artemis Charitable Foundation (registered Charity Number SC037857) has nominated two extremely worthy charities to benefit from the 2012 Quadrathlon:

·         Mercy Corps, an international development charity working in over 40 countries worldwide helping people to turn the crises of natural disaster, poverty and conflict into opportunities for progress; and

·         Mary's Meals, an international movement to set up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.

Haig Bathgate and Ben Waterhouse will be taking part in the full event as a team of two.  The rest of the team will be working as a relay team, with Jennifer Young and Fraser Blain swimming, Marek Krzeczkowski, Fraser Blain, Jon Livingston and Rory Byrom hiking, Alan Hay and Jennifer Young kayaking and finally Fraser Blain, Alison Christie and Alan Hay cycling to the finish line!

Our target is to raise £4,500; however, hopefully we can significantly improve on this for these two very worthy charities.

For further information on both of the 2012 charities please visit their websites at www.mercycorps.org.uk and www.marysmeals.org.

All donations welcome - we appreciate your generosity!
