During a recent trip to Kenya I was honoured to visit many projects through a friend of mine, who runs a Scottish registered charity, Vision Ministries, enabling people of Kenya (who have a vision for their communities), realise their visions.

           One such project VM support is BLRC who :

Rescue Abandoned Babies

Having now returned home to my ‘privileged’ life I have decided I would like to help this Centre in whatever way it requires …i.e., rent, medical bills, saving to buy their own building…

whatever is required to help these wonderful selfless people continue the amazing work they do!

For those of you who know me personally you will know that I spent my entire nursing career working in Neonatal Intensive Care Units, helping save the lives of Pre-Term and Critically ill New-born. So, you will hopefully see why this project is dear to me.

The centre does exactly what it says in its name – it rescues babies!

Babies, often new-born, are abandoned on a regular basis left on market stalls, at the side of the road, at churches, thrown away in skips as rubbish – yes that happens! Some are abuse victims. Every week babies are brought to the centre where they are taken in, loved, and cared for. All must be medically assessed. They are often very weak and require a lot of care and almost always need medical intervention (which costs, no NHS in Kenya).

Obviously, this takes finance! So, to that end:

Throughout the month of July 2022, I am going to cycle, at least, seven hundred miles (more if I can) and would like you, my friends, to support me in this endeavour
