Sierra Leone 2017 Moa river challenge · 19 November 2017
On 18th November Chris Wardrop, Richard Pape and Alex von Moll will be setting off to Sierra Leone to row the 125km of the Moa River from the border of Guinea in the North to the Atlantic Ocean, travelling in pack rafts by day and sleeping in the jungle by night.
What is going to make this experience very special is that we will be joined by two ex-servicemen who have sustained life changing injuries in the line of duty. Both of them have gone through incredible adversity to get here and we hope this is going to be a life affirming experience for them as well as us.
We think this is going to be amazing fun but would like to ask for your help in raising money for the charity that has got them to this point and helps so many others; Adaptive Grand Slam (AGS).
The Adaptive Grand Slam foundation (AGS) is a new charity that provides grants to members of the disabled community, mainly ex-service men and women to assist in participation in extreme challenges, acquisition of meaningful occupation and independent living. Each year the AGS team develops and supports teams of disabled adventure athletes achieve the extraordinary. The AGS mission is to provide examples of inspirational achievement within the disabled community conducted by adaptive performance teams, led by adaptive leaders, raising money for the AGS foundation.
