In the name of Allah, most merciful, most kind. 

Some of you might be reading this message in the comfort of your own warm homes, others of you studying in heated libraries, and some of you might be outside, wrapped up in warm coats and scarves. We might have these privileges, but there are people out there who aren’t as lucky and who need our help.

On the 14th of February I will be going to Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon with the Human Relief Foundation, where our brothers and sisters are enduring freezing temperatures. Me and the team will be distributing blankets, warm clothing and food packs to our Muslim families who are suffering in the winter temperatures as severe as -5 degrees without warm clothes or food.

Just last year, an 8 year old girl could no longer survive the extreme winter weather and unfortunately passed away, please read the following article for more information:

How can we stop cases like these from continuing? We as Muslims are one family, how can we allow our family to suffer like this?

It was narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: 

“There is no day on which the people get up but two angels come down and one of them says, ‘O Allah, give in compensation to the one who spends (in charity),’ and the other says, ‘O Allah, destroy the one who withholds."
