Ummah Welfare Trust was founded to challenge the huge poverty and injustice prevalent in the Ummah today. Inspired by the Islamic teachings of empathy and selflessness, the charity strives to support and uplift the impoverished through the beautiful act of charity.

Story

The worst season for struggling families is now here.

Winter’s biting winds and rains have arrived, bringing even more poverty and hardship to families across the Ummah.

Higher fuel costs, poor nutrition and a lack of protection against
the cold will stretch families in Syria, Gaza and elsewhere to breaking
point. The outcome, especially for the young and old, can be
devastating.

Despite not being seen as an emergency, tens of thousands of extra deaths occur during winter every year.

It’s up to us to stop this

‘Whoever relieves a believer from one of the hardships of this
world, Allah will relieve him one of the hardships of the Day of
Resurrection.’ [Bukhari]

Though we cannot stop the cold, we can help needy mothers and their children to stay warm.

For just £50 you can provide blankets and other essentials to a family in Syria, Gaza and elsewhere across the Ummah
