Five weeks of fun... · 12 April 2015

Tour de Cure is an Australian cycling foundation. Since 2007, we've raised more than $30 million, we've funded 266 cancer projects, we've achieved 22 significant cancer breakthroughs, and we've helped to raise awareness about cancer prevention to more than 90,000 school children across Australia.

Story

We started our European riding to raise money to beat Prostate Cancer when a good mate lost his Dad to the disease. Recently another good mate lost his Mum to Pancreatic Cancer. It seemed like a good time to suffer for five weeks and raise money for a great cause.

Super Sprint Triathlon

A corporate event starting the Sydney harbour. Not to testing assuming the Bull Sharks don’t come out to play!

Liege Bastogne Liege

Often called La Doyenne ("the oldest"), is one of the five Monuments of the European professional road cycling calendar. First held in 1892, it takes place each year in the Ardennes region of Belgium, from Liège to Bastogne and back. This "challenge" sportive is your chance to ride the same course as the pros will follow a day later, cobbles and all.

Cycling Weekly said of the race: "In purely physical terms, this is probably the toughest classic: the climbs are long, most of them are pretty steep as well, and they come up with depressing frequency in the final kilometers."

Amalfi to Sicily

The continuation of our European cycling trip started back in 2010, we have covered approximately 3,300kms and 45,000 metres of climbing. This is a special year finishing on the top of Mount Etna, after 36 kms of climbing, our biggest day by a long way.

Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon

A week after the cycle trip I will turn my legs over around the scenic beauty of Sydney harbour, although I don’t expect to be looking about much!
