Story:
Mick worked most of his life in the building trade and his hobby was racing pigeons. He didnt really have much ill health in his life. IIn January of 2009, Mick started to feel unwell and in June, was diagnosed with terminal cancer and sadly, within 3 months, had passed away.During those months, Mick carried on as normal as much as possible until a few weeks before his death. He left a large void within the family but is remembered by the affectionate term of 'Grandad Grumps' by his grandchildren and his very quick wit by people who knew him.Mick was a good husband, father of 6 and a Grandad of 18.Let's go Team Betteridge!
All money raised will support local families who are going through one of the hardest times of their lives! As a local charity Friends Fighting cancer are able to act fast in order to provide vital funds with a unique grant which can sometimes be approved in less than 24 hours! This is provided directly to the family to help alleviate the financial burden this disease can cause.
All money raised WILL go directly into the grant scheme service and help those in need. Grants can range anything from £100 to £1000 and can be used for anything such as help paying utility bills, parking fees whilst the person is undergoing treatment, putting food on the table or to make lasting memories with loved ones.
