So this isn't my first ever marathon distance but this is my first "serious" road marathon, no wine this time :-(   I am taking the training seriously and pushing myself to achieve what I know I am capable of.

Although I have been lucky enough to get a place in the marathon through my running club I want to take the opportunity to raise a bit of money for a charity close to my heart.  The Oldies club help a number of dog charities to find forever homes for old dogs that are so often overlooked.  I have volunteered for them a number of times in the past and been lucky enough to help some of the wonderful dogs find a new home.

Any amount of money will make a difference so if you can spare a little it will make me feel even better as I start to embark on the tough long training runs, knowing this will all go towards making a difference for some truly wonderful dogs
