Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Simon and I will be running our little socks off on Sunday 2nd December in the Singapore Marathon. For both of us it will be the longest distances we have ever raced; me 13 miles and Simon the full 26!  Half of the battle is being able to cope with the searing Singapore heat and humidity!

We are running in tribute to Simon's younger brother Jeremy who died last year from new variant CJD.  As many of you know Jeremy was a fantastic athlete and runner. He grabbed life with both hands and achieved many more things in his short 30 years than most of us will do in our lifetimes. He inspired and encouraged others to achieve things they did not think they were able to do. It's his 'carpe diem' philosophy, which inspires us both in terms of our running and in other parts of our life.

Through running in the Singapore marathon/half marathon we are hoping to raise £1500 for the Jeremy Willson Charitable Trust, a charity set up in his memory. It’s aim is to help other young people who now share his passions in life.  It has been set up so that Jeremy can continue to have a positive impact, in a small way, on other people's lives. To read more about the trust and some of the people who have already benefited, please follow this link: http://www.jwct.org.uk/

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Jeremy Willson Charitable Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
