NATIONAL RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS SOCIETY
PLEASE SUPPORT ME AND MY WHEELCHAIR PUSHERS!!
(Roger Black MBE, Olympic athlete and television presenter, is pictured here with Ailsa Bosworth, chief executive of NRAS giving his full support to this fantastic Great North Run entry)
'Team NRAS, me and my wheelchair are taking part in the Great North Run on Sunday, 30th September 2007. It is my biggest challenge yet and I am sure I won't look as composed by the end of the push - thank you team, I shall try to lighten the pushing load in time for the race!!
Please give generously to the only national specialist charity focusing on rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a life changing disease. By taking part in this event (are we mad or what?!) we also hope to raise awareness of RA in the UK and the services NRAS provides for people who suffer from this dreadfully painful disease that affects both children and adults.
I have suffered with severe RA since my late twenties. Shortly after my daughter was born RA hit me hard and I have been fighting it ever since. My daughter grew up helping me with everyday tasks, constantly coping with a mother in extreme pain. I launched the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) in 2001 to help people like me in the UK.
This is a unique opportunity to dig deep and donate generously as I won't have this moment of madness again!'
HELP ME TO HELP MY CHARITY!
Thank you
