In January 2020, I lost the most amazing lady I have ever been blessed to have in my life after a long battle with MND.

Valerie Thain was the sweetest, kindest person I have ever met. When I was 4 years old, she welcomed me in to her family with open arms showing me warmth, affection and an unconditional love I could only dream of. Calling Val my Nana for all these years has been a privilege and a joy, her loss has been huge to me and the rest of her doting family. 

My sister and I are hoping to make her incredibly proud by completing The Great North Run on Sunday 11th September, as we fundraise for MNDA. The support they give families going through MND and the research they do is absolutely incredible so every penny I raise will support other families who have to go through the same thing.
