Story
I am raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity to increase awareness and funding for research that is making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families.
Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. About 30 people a day are diagnosed with a primary brain tumour, and more than 5,000 people lose their lives to a brain tumour each year.
Life expectancy is reduced by 20 years on average - the highest of any cancer. Just 19% of adults survive the first five years after diagnosis.
But out of £500m that is spent on cancer research in the UK every year, less than 2% is spent on brain tumours.
