Thames21 is an environmental charity that works with communities to restore and look after rivers, water and nature across London and the Thames Basin.

Story

The AirPlus International UK office is currently preparing for its 4th annual long distance charity cycle ride – this year the team will be tackling a taxing 4-day cycle from the UK office based in London, to the city of Amsterdam.

Members of the UK team will be joined by other international colleagues from AirPlus International for the journey – all in the hope of raising money for the environmental charity Thames21.

Thames21 is a UK based charity dedicated to cleaning and protecting London’s waterways from pollution. The charity works closely with communities and volunteers to clean and improve rivers for both the local population & wildlife. Single-use plastics, and other throw-away items are actively contributing to the rising levels of pollution in London’s rivers, as well as vandalism & neglect, Thames21 works not only to clean up this vital part of our local eco-system, but also works to engage local communities and inspire a sense of ownership over London’s waterways.

The AirPlus International UK team are dedicated to supporting the initiatives of Thames21, and are aiming to raise donations through their long-distance cycle to help Thames21 continue its’ amazing charitable work.

The team at AirPlus International UK have engaged in a yearly charity cycle ride for the last few years, previous adventures include:

- 2018 London to Brussels

- 2017 London to Paris

- 2016 London to Brighton
