With its more than 20 million inhabitants, Cameroon is a young and vast country facing important development as well as humanitarian challenges. An estimated 46% of children live in poverty. Infant, child and maternal mortality are extremely high and estimates suggest a worrying increase. Cameroon is characterised as an agricultural producer that is also affected by food insecurity and chronic malnutrition in some regions.
