Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
During the week of 26th September, we will be undertaking a fitness challenge to raise money for our chosen charity - Routes to Roots. Our aim is, in one working week to;
Swim or paddleboard the distance of Dover to Calais, (in the
harbour wearing a tracking watch). Swimming 49,900 metres, 10,000 metres a day.
Cycle the distance of Lands End to John O’Groats, (on a static bike in the office, riding in a virtual world ‘Zwift’). Cycling 1189 miles which equates to circa 240 miles a day.
Hike/Jog up the height of Everest, twice, (on the treadmill in the office). Walking 58,062 vertical feet, 11,600 vertical ft per day.
It’s a considerable challenge and is worthy of a considerable target which we want to set at £10,000! Please help us to achieve it!
The charity Routes to Roots supports rough sleepers, vulnerably housed and newly housed adults in Poole. At five drop-ins they provide basic necessities, such as showers, hot food, clothing and sleeping bags, and offer outreach access to the Poole addictions team, mental health workers, Poole rough sleeper outreach team and housing advisers. They were first registered as a charity in 2002 and became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in 2017. In July 2015 the Bishop of Sherborne, Karen Gorham became their Patron.
