Hi all 

Today (08.05.21) is the anniversary of my friend Tarek’s sudden passing. While this is a sad time, we must continue and embrace the opportunities he no longer has: to live a full life and (hopefully) do good. 

Therefore inspired  by the tremendous support last year, I have decided to continue his kind and giving legacy for years to come by running the London Marathon this autumn in support of Penny Appeal UK and USA and their DIG DEEP campaign where I hope to fund the construction of an entire water well in Tarek’s name that will serve a community in Africa day in, day out, providing them with fresh, clean water.

Tarek had previously tried to run the London marathon, but was on the waiting list and sadly did not live to run the marathon in his lifetime. 

It costs just £4000 to build one water well to provide safe, clean drinking water for children, families and the elderly living in Africa. Together we can provide the gift of clean water, and make a massive difference. Further information and details are set out below. 

Of lesser importance, and as some of you know, I have made the journey from operating table to finish line many times over the years but it never gets old! This will be (hopefully) my 90th marathon and sixth London marathon in a row, in just 6 years. 

I am trying to raise £4,000 for the charity, and would be enormously appreciative of any support that you all could provide. 

I also hope to see you on the day itself so we can celebrate Tarek, his legacy and our achievement together.
