I've set up an AKU Seed Fund to raise money to find a cure for AKU, the rare genetic disease affecting my two boys. The money from this fund will be used to accelerate medical research and support patients.
AKU is caused by a missing enzyme, leading to the accumulation of homogentisic acid in cartilage and bone at 2,000 times the normal rate. This causes severe disability as life progresses.
AKU was the first genetic disease ever discovered, more than 100 years ago, but there still is no cure. So please dig deep and donate generously!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please donate now!
