Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I will be working in Rwanda for VSO from the beginning of November. As you know Rwanda has had a terrible recent history but is doing a remarkable job of building a positive future while trying to deal with the legacy of the past.
One thing that the Government is trying to do is improve schooling for young people and I will be helping with that objective.
I do not have to pay for this placement and do not have to fundraise however I want to because I think that VSO does a very good job in helping to build capacity for improvement in developing countries. The money raised through volunteer's fundraising is an important source of income for VSO (and enables them to raise matched funding from our Government).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe and you won't be sent unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the VSO and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now,
thanks and keep in touch through my blog,
best wishes,
Alan
PS for those who donated to my Parkinson's appeal - thanks again and I promise I'm not going to be making a habit of this!
