We believe every blind veteran should be able to lead the life they choose. At Blind Veterans UK we’re one, transformational team. We provide rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support. Together we can help rebuild lives.

Story

On the 26th of May 2013, I will be running my first ever full Marathon in Edinburgh.

On the 26th of May 2012, Captain Stephen Healey from the 1st Battalion Royal Welsh was killed in Afghanistan. He is the 415th fallen British soldier in the current conflict

His partner and soulmate Thea Davies is running 415 miles of marathons and half marathons worldwide between October 2012 to October 2013, but understandably she has chosen not to run on the anniversary of Steve's death. She has kindly agreed that I can fill this gap in her running calendar, and to raise funds for Blind Veterans in memory of Steve, who was a tireless fundraiser for this charity.

If and when I cross the line, I will be thinking of a man whom I have never met, and also of other friends who serve in the same regiment.
