Alan peacefully passed away on 22.03.22. 

Alan was ill on and off with cancer from the beginning of 2019. Since the ending of his initial treatment later that year,  we had many ‘all clears’ and had some really good times together as a family. In the later days when he became quite unwell, Alan felt strongly about being cared for at home and didn’t want to spend anymore time in hospital. Dorothy House supported us in making this happen by arranging for us to have aids at home, a wheelchair and a blue badge as well as regular nurse and physiotherapy visits. Dorothy House also worked with Wiltshire Registry Office to fast track the application for Frankie and Sam’s wedding, so that he could walk her down the aisle (which he achieved 11 days before he died). 

Dorothy House are a brilliant charity who have done a lot for us and continue to do so now. We want to thank them by raising funds in Alan’s memory. Alan was a much loved husband, Dad, Grandad and brother as well as a highly respected Emeritus Professor at the University of Bath. He will forever be in our hearts.
