Hospiscare provides free and specialised nursing to the terminally ill in Exeter, Mid and East Devon. It looks after more than 700 patients at any one time, supporting patients in their own homes and in its hospice. It relies on the generosity of the community to provide this vital service.

Story

As I turned 70 this February I wanted to mark the 'milestone' by maintaining awareness and support of a great charity that I have been associated with for 30 years. With good friends Sally Bowey and Baz Gray running with me in support I have set the challenge of running almost 20 miles from Honiton Hospiscare's 'Kings House' to Exeter's 'Searle House' on Sunday 30th May 2021 starting at 0700

20 miles will be an immense challenge for me as I have had a back injury for 16 months which has given me little chance for training and a great deal of painful treatment

For over 30 years I have seen the caring devotion of Hospiscare staff and admired the way the funds are used, I believe 85p in the pound goes to where we would all like our funds used and consider it a remarkable record, so many good friends and their families have been truly grateful for Hospiscare's support which makes it very personal to me.

If you can spare just £1 for my effort Hospiscare would be really grateful 😊
