Between 17th and 27th June 2017 I am going to attempt to climb Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. 'Kilis' prominent glacier covered peak, poking out above the clouds and so at odds with the surrounding savannah has long fascinated me but climbing such a thing seemed unattainable to a working class lad from Ilkeston.  

My perception of what is achievable has changed in recent years but being a lazy bugger (in terms of fitness and 'training'), I was never going to try something like Kili without the motivation of a good cause. Thats where Cancer Research UK comes in.

Everyone has been affected by Cancer and suffice to say I am no different. My Sister, Father in Law, Granma, Best Man, Auntie & Uncle have all been affected by this condition and I am again joining the fight to find more effective and permanent cures and improve the treatments available.

I know people are bombarded with requests for donations but apologies in advance- I will be rattling my collection tin over the next 9 Months. I think this charity resonates with everyone due to cancers evil reach so I hope you can find it in you to donate...even the smallest of donations will be gratefully received, so please help me reach my target and hopefully exceed it.

I'll try and add updates on how my training progresses, but If you should see a bloke climbing cossall hill repeatedly to get some elevation in, please dont take me for a nutter.
