In October 2010 my grandson and I are doing a  trek to The Great Wall of China in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

We decided to help this charity because we know that most people have been touched by cancer in one way or another either by losing someone close to them, knowing someone who has the disease or they may even have suffered from it themselves.

I myself lost my mother to cancer when I was only eighteen and it completely changed the course of my life.  I didn't really understand much about it at the time and people were not as open then as they are now. Thankfully, a lot more is known about the disease now and thanks to the research funded by charities like Mare Curie people understand that it does not always need to be a killer.

Please, please help us to raise money for this worthwhile cause!
