Alan's Macmillan Challenge 2024

Supernova Run · 15 March 2024 to 16 March 2024 ·
Thank you for supporting my fundraising and welcome to my page. Anyone that knows me knows that I regularly support charities who dedicate themselves to supporting people with terminal cancer so supporting Macmillan this year will be no surprise.
This is because we sadly lost my mum in April 2015. She was 53 years old and died from a brain tumor. Diagnosed in late 2014, we made the most as a family to spend as much time with her as we could. Unfortunately due to the short time we had my mum never got to meet five of her seven grandchildren one of whom, my daughter Grace, was born just a few months after she passed away.
In 2024 I am planning to participate in four events raising funds for Macmillan. Run 29 Miles in February, Reading Half Marathon in April, Ride London (100) in May, and Supernova London in November.
This won't be an easy challenge, at all, because as the year ticks over I currently weigh 21 stone (294lbs, or 133.5kg, depending on if you use old or new money). I've also not been particularly active through 2023 with a few false starts on my fitness journey. Oops...
The reason for the four challenges is to cover multiple events across the year to enable me to reach my fundraising goal of £1000 which will aid massively in Macmillan’s drive to support people with cancer, whatever it takes.
Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
