Alan's 1,800-mile road trip

Alan Troilett is raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK

Alan's 1,800-mile road trip · 8 June 2021

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. We’re striving for a cure, by revolutionising the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.

Story

Between the 8th of June and  17th June 2021, I completed  an epic 1,800-mile road trip to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, a cause close to my heart, as my beloved wife Audi is living with dementia.

The journey started at Four Season’s Howdon Care Centre in Wallsend where my wife Audi, has been cared for since moving into the home a year ago.

I was accompanied on my journey by my Yorkshire Terrier, Teddy and supported by my friend John and we travelled from Wallsend to Land’s End, back to Newcastle before then heading up to John O’Groats and returning to Newcastle.

Total miles 1,800, driving time 45 hours & 40 minutes averaging 43mph.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Supported by Four Seasons Health Care Group.
