Thank you for visiting our fundraising page........
On the 20th June 2007 [new date] we are leaving the comfort of our homes behind to try and conquer the summit of the the world’s highest freestanding mountain on the roof of Africa , Mount Kilimanjaro . This is in aid of Cancer Research UK and is spread over duration of 12 days.
As proud and patriotic Scotsman it has been decided that we will wear our kilts in the true Scottish spirit. (Midges won’t be a problem but frostbite might be!)
We have committed ourselves to this challenge (which is very much tougher than we thought!)It comes in three parts! First, we have to raise a minimum of £6000 for Cancer Research UK , secondly we have to get fit through a training programme and thirdly, do the challenge itself (exhausting!).
The objective of the challenge is to reach the summit whilst raising funds for Cancer Research UK . The money raised by this trek will be put towards research into finding treatments to cure cancer faster, get treatment to patients more quickly and develop accurate and sensitive tests for the prevention and early detection of different types of cancer. Did you know that every year 120,000 people lose their lives in this county to cancer?
All this being said, please do not feel pressurised into making a contribution because we understand that we cannot give to every charity we are asked to. But, considering that the majority of us have been affected at some point by the news that a relative or a close friend has been diagnosed with some form of cancer, there’s definitely a worthwhile end to our challenge and every little bit counts.
If you feel you can help us with our fundraising it would be greatly appreciated. We have personally contributed £700 each towards the travel expenses.
Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support."Onwards and Upwards!"

PS. The original date at the top of the page has now changed to June 07 as Alasdair ruptured his achillies tendon!
