Tour de Grouse 2009 · 15 August 2009
Me and 34 other cyclists (a lot of them being A lot fitter than me!!) are particpating in this year's Tour de Grouse (TDG5).
TDG5 is the fifth annual cycle route, now limited for safety reasons to 35 riders, who must cycle at an average of 15 miles per hour displaying bonhomie throughout and raising money for worthy causes. This year, we have decided to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Scotland and in particular for their excellent research work and the respite care they offer - this is a fantastic charity with a most worthy cause. Route - Six stages: Corran Ferry, 10 miles south of Fort William – Glenfinnan - Glenuig, though Acharacle - Glenmore, through Moidart - Ardnamurchan Point – Glenmore - Strontian - mountain top finish on the 350m bealach - Strontian – Corran finishing with a single climb up Glen Tarbert, maintaining an average speed of at least 15mph
We have set ourselves a target of raising a minimum of a pound for every sufferer - 10,500 people in Scotland!! So we have set the bar high and I hope my legs remain strong - if not I will be left in the Ardnamurchan area...............so anyone passing if they dont see me in the next few months, you know where I am!!!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
All donations are greatly appreciated and will be going to a most worthy cause.
Kindest regards and please pray for me on the 15th August 2009!!!!
