500 miles helps people in Malawi & Zambia who have impaired mobility as a result of amputation, deformity, illness or accident by supplying artificial limbs and splints & braces for all-comers, but especially the poor. Our focus, through training, is development of sustainable in-country services.

Story

You will all know Olivia Giles, or may remember hearing about her fight with meningitis in 2002.  In 2007 she founded the charity 500 miles, which supplies prosthetic limbs to developing countries.

On 7th March 2015, 500 miles is holding the BIG dinner – a major fundraising event which aims to raise over £500,000 in a single night. The event consists of hundreds of separate dinners eaten all over the world, some of which will be showcased in a special web-stream broadcast hosted by Fred MacAulay, who will be attending a celebrity dinner himself.

I have agreed to host my own BIG dinner and also try and raise awareness of the event.  I would like to invite you all to take part.
