As some of you may know I have been a Board member for the PUENTE Learning Center since 2016. I served as Board President from 2018-2020.  PUENTE is close to my heart given its mission of providing quality education for the children of the Boyle Heights and East LA communities and providing adult learning programs and skills to assist adults with bettering their education and employment opportunities. Without the opportunities and education that I have been blessed with I would not be where I am today. 

 On Saturday, March 19th the LA Big 5K is taking place and will raise funds and awareness for the PUENTE Learning Center. PUENTE is advancing racial equity in Boyle Heights, East LA, and beyond by providing children, youth, and adults access to a high-quality education and the support they need to thrive. For over 35 years, PUENTE has empowered more than 120,000 students and families through programs such as, Preschool, Charter Elementary School, College & Career Programming, and Adult Education.
