I am participating in the 2025 Alcatraz Swim to San Francisco Bay to support and raise funds for Velindre Charity. This event represents an extraordinary and challenging opportunity.

Another significant reason for my involvement is my dear friend Andrew. In August 2023, Andrew was diagnosed with a brain tumour following seizures after exercising. Although he underwent surgery in September 2023 to remove the tumour, the procedure was unsuccessful due to its proximity to critical nerves. Subsequently, Andrew endured several weeks of radiotherapy, which effectively reduced the tumour’s size, and he is currently undergoing a nine-month course of chemotherapy. Velindre Centre has helped Andrew throughout his whole treatment and I would love to help this amazing charity!

I eagerly anticipate completing this event alongside Andrew for such an important cause and can’t wait to start the training!
