Story
In January 2016, I lost my Mum to Leukemia. The support that Macmillan offered my Mum and the family during and after the time of her illness was incredible. It is an unfortunate fact in today's world that most of us will know of someone who is effected by cancer and we never know when the support of charities such as Macmillan will be called upon.
I have the honour of being Captain of Alderley Edge Golf Club this year and have set myself a personal target to raise £10k for Macmillan, to give something back to repay the support they showed my family and help others who may need their services. We have several activities planned for the year however a key part of the fundraising effort centres around me and 11 other members of AEGC taking on a 72-golf hole challenge in one day on Friday 22nd June. We will be tee'ing off at Alderley Edge around 5.00am, moving on to Mottram Hall for 9.30am, over to Styal Golf Club for 14.00 and returning to Alderley at 18.00 to complete the challenge.
The team would greatly appreciate your support so if you can donate to this cause, all contributions will be welcomed to help us achieve the £2.5k target we have set for this specific event. We will keep people updated as we plan for the big day and obviously announce how much we have raised post the event.
We would also invite you to Alderley Edge Golf Club on the evening of Friday 22nd June to join us as we complete the challenge. The club will be laying on an informal social evening with food, music and of course the bar will be open.
Please get behind the lads....many, many thanks in advance! Simon
