As many of you will know, Chailey Heritage Foundation is a charity that is close to my heart because of the amazing care they provide to many severely disabled children, including my son, Sam. He was born with a rare genetic disorder called CDKL5, which causes severe global development delay and as a result requiring continuous care for the most basic of everyday needs, as well as suffering from frequent epileptic seizures.

Chailey Heritage Foundation is a pioneering charity dedicated to enriching the lives of young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs. Its vision is simple and clear: Every young person will be given every opportunity to make progress towards fulfilment. Sam has benefited enormously from Chailey's support from an early age and will continue to do so until early adulthood.

To show my support I shall be taking part in a one-day challenge involving a 10-mile cycle ride followed by a 9-mile trek to the summit of Mt Snowdon (1,085m) via the Ranger & Llanberis paths, and finishing by kayaking 2.5 miles back across Llyn Padarn.  Hopefully the weather will be kind, but it’s the Welsh mountains, so all bets are off!
