Flora London Marathon 2006 · 23 April 2006 ·
My name is Aled R Williams and I’m a teacher at Romilly Junior School in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. I am in training for the London Marathon which takes place on April 23rd 2006 and hope to raise a great deal of money for the cancer charity ‘Tenovus’.
This charity is unique in its provision of patient care services, research, education & support. Statistics show that one in two of us will experience some form of cancer by the year 2020.
I have strong personal reasons why I support this charity, as in January 2002, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. After surgery she received treatment at Velindre Hospital , Cardiff ; Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. During this very difficult time she had fantastic support from ‘Tenovus’. She is now in remission and we are all, as a family, so grateful for the way she was treated by staff funded by ‘Tenovus’; especially the specialist nurse who gave expert advice in such a caring way.
Participating in the London Marathon is my way of saying thank you for those who helped my mum fight this frightening disease. Please support me!
Running in the London Marathon is quite a challenge; but through your support and kind donation, my efforts will be strengthened.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Tenovus will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
