Aleppo to Lesvos Challenge 2021 · 26 November 2021

This month, we're running, cycling and knitting our way from Aleppo to Lesvos - a collective 1,201km - in solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers. By donating to our challenge, you're supporting our vital legal aid grants.

Story

In volunteering for SolidariTee this year, I am going to be running and gymming my way from Aleppo to Lesvos! As part of the West Midlands/Wales team, we are aiming to cover 1,201km - the distance from Aleppo in Syria to the Greek island of Lesvos, in solidarity with refugees & asylum seekers. This is one of the most well-known refugee migration routes in the world. The A2L challenge aims to raise crucial awareness of the dangerous journeys that people make every day in order to seek safety.By donating to our challenge, you are supporting our vital legal aid grants through sponsorship for this challenge, which ensure human rights, agency, and dignity for asylum seekers in Greece and beyond.

Just £27 could fund two caseworkers for a day, who can help around 40 people navigate bureaucratic asylum processes. £520 could pay for a Greek lawyer for a week, representing asylum seekers during the most critical moments of their lives during asylum appeals and family reunification cases.
