Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Jamie Shohet is raising money for Little Princess Trust

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow · 13 November 2020

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Hi!

It's Aless, Roman and Oli

We've been growing our hair for 4 years to get it long enough so Little Princess Trust can make lots of wigs for sick children who have lost theirs.

We wanted to help them feel happier so they don't feel weird when they're out... also, their heads would probably be cold without hair in the winter and hats are really itchy!

We're lucky our hair grows really fast and we have lots of it, but growing it has been a big effort because the knots get like big, tangled spider nests and it really hurts, we cried all the time.  It takes ages to get them all out and mummy gets really angry that we don't want to wash it, even if she hates it as well.  She tried a million different sprays, brushes, combs and creams... they are all are rubbish, nothing worked.

It takes so long, it hurts a lot and two seconds later it's all knotty again!  What's the point?!?  We hated it but we reminded each other why we were doing it (and Daddy kept saying 'just cut it, just cut it'...)

Thank goodness brushing the wigs doesn't hurt them, they have suffered enough already.

Please can you help too? Can you give a bit of money to the charity so they can actually make loads of wigs with our massive hair donations (we had 14 inches from Oli, 15 inches from Roman and 22 inches from Aless), apparently they are quite expensive to make.

Thank you so much for reading our long story and for any money you can give, we know that people don't have that much at the moment but we definitely have more than the kids without hair.
