Story
Let’s start with the fun stuff then: Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the nervous system. It affects around 100,000 people in the UK.
After being diagnosed with MS, I’ve wanted to do something to support the MS society. This is an incredible charity doing some amazing work in the research of treatment and the support offered to sufferers.
A bit of family history with the charity is involved. My dear old Dad has already ran 3 marathons for the MS society raising an incredible £19,000. My aunt has MS and my grandfather had it so it’s always been a cause we’ve been involved with. Now, it’s closer to home than ever, and, (somewhat selfishly) I want to raise money as the charity has offered me great support throughout my journey with MS.
Over the next few months I’ll be putting myself through hell in training as preparation to run the 26.2 miles. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated and have a real impact in the fight against MS.
Thanks for reading and see you on the other side!
