Story
In 2012 Oscar Maclean was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour, with extremely low survival rates.
he was treated in Alder Hay hospital, and a group of 3 super-mums (Georgie, Genevieve & Fi) famously raised neraly £15k earlier this year through the gruelling Jesrey ITEX walk.
I have been personally touched by the bravery of Oscar and the strength of his parents in the face of this adversity.
Losing my father to a brain tumour at 65 seemed difficult, but the possibility of losing a child is infinitely less bearable.
Following on from the girls' amazing ITEX achievement, I decided to raise money by putting myself through an age-old physical and mental challenge this year - the marathon.
The cause is an incredibly important one - CLIC Sargent Jersey http://www.clicsargent.org.uk
CLIC Sargent provides clinical, practical and emotional support to children with cancer. It helps them cope with the illness and get the most out of life. Oscar's parents have explained first-hand what tremendous support they received, and why it is important that the charity is well-funded in order to continue supporting others.
I am joined by the running "dream-team" here at Altis Partners: Alex Morgan, Katarzyna Senda and Maria O'Donnell. Please wish them all well on the day, and give generously.
Thank you for your support.
