As a tribute to my cousin Michael who passed away last year due to heart failure I am planning to undertake a 300+ mile long distance walk from Gateshead to Colwyn Bay this April. I hope to raise as much as I can for the British Heart Foundation in the process of doing so.

I shall be setting out from Tyneside on the morning of the 13th from 'The Tilley Stone', where myself and Michael met up in November 2016, for what sadly turned out to be our last time together. I then intend to complete the walk back in North Wales at 'The Picture House', my local, and, another place where we had shared fond times. 

Both of these happen to be JD Wetherspoon public houses, and so, to add an extra interesting dimension to my challenge I plan to call in at each one in the chain that I pass by on route (almost 30 in total if all goes well). Places to shelter from the weather if needed, and also to get cooked food and a warming cuppa inside of me. Not to mention the odd bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale every once in a while too :).
