Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Four and a half years ago while we where waiting for the birth of our son, I was diagnosed with Coronary heart disease. The doctor told me I needed an urgent multiple heart bypass! The news was shattering, but two things helped me through this time, my family and the support of The British Heart Foundation.Since the bypass, I have been much more active and healthy, and enjoying life with my family.

Last year, we had another blow to the family when my wonderful mother in law Gillian passed away from Pancreatic Cancer. She was an amazing person and helped my family through the hard times when I was ill.

This year, has again brought sadness to our family with the passing of my brother in law Fernando to a traffic accident. He was a pivotal figure in our family. A kind and wonderful family man, he was and will always be an inspiration to us.

I would like to dedicate my ride to both Gillian and Fernando, who we all miss terribly.
