The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association is the only national charity that coordinates care, support, and research for people affected by the condition. I've become more acquainted with MND over the last year as I decided to look into what might be causing the changes I've been experiencing with my balance and speech. Last month (January 2018) I received an official diagnosis of having MND. We're dealing with this head on and my aim is to increase awareness and raise valuable funds for this fantastic charity.

About MND:

• it attacks nerves that control movement so muscles no longer work. It can leave people locked in a failing body, unable to move, talk and eventually breathe.
  
• It kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two
  years of diagnosis.
  
• In the UK alone, six people are diagnosed every day and it affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time.
• It kills six people per day in the UK
  
• There is no cure.

The Challenge:

We chose the challenge as having always been a keen athlete it was something physical which could be adapted to my condition; I will be completing the challenge on a recumbent tricycle no less! More photos to follow...
