We offer vital end of life care and support to local people when they need it most.

Story

The trip:

I'll be cycling the full length of Africa - 12,000kms , from Cairo on the northern Mediterranean coast to Cape Town in the south, passing through 10 counties. In the process, I'll cycle through the Sahara Desert and crossing the equator in the process.

We'll be passing through Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.

Although technically a stage race, I'm just looking to collapse over each and every line, try not to let the 50 degree heat boil my brain and evade all wild animals.

The Charity:

The Douglas Macmillan Hospice, better known as Dougie Mac, is the only adult hospice in North Staffordshire. They were one of the few things that lifted my dad’s (and mum’s) spirits and energized him in his incredibly tough final months in 2017 and 2018, battling cancer. He was better on Dougie Mac days. They are wonderful.

They provide care, support, dignity and love to patients and their families living with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting/terminal illnesses including advanced heart failure, dementia, motor neurone and other incurable diseases.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I cannot stress enough the benefit the Dougie Mac offers those in their need.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send the money directly to the charity.
